Teesside Ability Support Centre
Teesside Ability Support Centre (TASC) is a day centre for adults with disabilities, where the emphasis is to increase the service users’ self-confidence and to maximise their potential to live as independent a life as possible. The day centre provides personal care, work skills training, gardening projects, educational and vocational courses, sporting activities, physiotherapy, and speech therapy. Additionally, the day centre has catering facilities available to the service users, which are in need of some updating and repair.
Court Homemakers in the community
At Court Homemakers, we’re always proud to support local organisations. With TASC based on Acklam Road, just down the road from our Stockton showroom, we’re pleased to announce that we will be fitting some new facilities at the centre.
“We invited a few of the regulars to the centre to visit our Stockton showroom to see the options for themselves”, said Paul Henderson, Director at Court Homemakers. “It was great to show them around and to get their feedback on what was needed. Having explored all the options, we managed to settle on the various items that we will be supplying to the centre free of charge.”
What we have selected
From the PWS collection, we have opted for the Porter Matt Porcelain painted doors; these are flat modern doors for easy maintenance. Also from PWS, we have opted for brushed steel easy to grip handles for all abilities.
The worktops will be from Plasman in their own Artis range; the group loved the colour urban grey. This style was chosen because of the finishes, i.e. copper, brass and silver, which can all be detected by TASC’s partially sighted service users and those with differing abilities.
As for the splash backs, these will match the worktops and will go behind the worktops and down to the floor, covering splash prone areas such as near the sink. The sink and taps are from Blanco, with an extra large stainless steel sink with Ergonomic taps that are designed with quarter turn levers for ease of use.
“The team here at Court Homemakers are really excited to get this project underway and can’t wait to see the finished result!” added Paul. “Stay tuned for updates on progress and the final unveiling!”
