The client wanted a kitchen that not only looked fantastic, but would blend in with the rest of the room creating a space to entertain family and friends.
What is the nature of the property and the space?
The client was having their home extended and wanted a large kitchen that wouldn’t dominate the space, but would provide a focal point while blending with the rest of the room and how they wanted to use it.
What was the brief?
The space created by the extension needed to house not just the kitchen, but also a dining/living area too. Positioned at the back of the house with bi-fold doors onto the garden, the client wanted a room which not only worked for them, but was also one in which they could entertain family and friends.
What style kitchen was chosen?
When the client visited the Stockton showroom, they loved the large concrete island on display, but were unsure how to make it work within their space. After speaking with Michael and seeing the 3D imagery of how the space could look, they were blown away and went with the design choosing doors in Otto Concrete & Otto Painted Matt Cement, Dekton – Entzo worktops and Siemens appliances.
What are the standout features and why?
“The centre island, which looks even more impressive in our home than in the showroom (if that’s possible!). The amount of storage space means we can hide everything away while the lighting accentuates the straight lines and gives the kitchen that wow feel without being overpowering, which is exactly what we wanted. The continuation of the marble effect in the flooring just marries the space and its multi functional nature together so well. It’s all just perfect!”
Were there any challenges?
“Not really, everything was concluded according to plan. The extension was really just a blank canvas waiting for a transformation.”
